I have lots of ideas.....but knowing me I’d be better off working for somebody coz I have lousy money sense. But if I didn’t have to bother about accounts and stuff I’d love to open a Library:-).
ReplyDeleteIf I had to open a business it would either be a play school, a casual restaurant where u can hangout with a book having innumerable cups of coffee :) or a book shop with a coffee house.
ReplyDeleteI would sell Kebabs. This will allow me to be my own customer. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'll come and do the accounts and stuff in your library. Love libraries.
ReplyDeleteWell, I did start a BPO business, not for myself, but as an intrapreneur for my company. Have had enough of business, so content with writing about it now.
Given a chance, I would love to start a sports academy.
oh yeah... i am game for libraries too :) i can take care of the money as well ;)
ReplyDeleteChech, would u hire me???? ;)
I'd also love to open a library or books shop....I would also love to run a boutique that sells clothes and accessories for ladies :)
ReplyDeleteYou start a library, Ramesh will start a sports academy and another BPO. Sulo and I will hand(le) the cash transactions. And will make your names fly high in charity/philanthropy...Poor girls, we will live on your names...

Learning and Development are my focus areas. If I got some money I would start a Training Institution - provide Corporate Training. With still some more money I would start an employ-ability program for the youth in India.
ReplyDeleteIf there was an obscene amount of money available then I would think in terms of creating an Educational Institution - schools and colleges, maybe even an University.
These are a few of my small dreams!
Book shop/library/coffee shop...
ReplyDeleteAnd then a school that provides alternative education, something like Rishi Valley..
aah..lot of ideas...yes, a coffee shop cum music library cum book library would be ideal...maybe also a shop that sells beautiful handicrafts..
ReplyDeleteA Cosy book store with a small cozy coffee shop selling freshly baked cakes nd all :D

I have to confess I am truly dismayed at the number of bookshop/coffee shop dream! Okay so screw that! I am also keen on organic farming - especially since I got hooked on cooking shows about 6 years ago and saw Jamie Oliver's garden. I would also like to start a day care center for working women at the grassroots level. Being a new Mum it is terrifying to think of leaving my precious with strangers but I hope to have the kind of establishment that will give women the confidence to join the workforce once again :o)
ReplyDeleteOh and I also want to start a bakery - but that is just for me. I am MAD about bread! Trying to cut down on the sugary stuff but I will indulge now n then. I always wanted my home to smell of freshly baked bread. Gosh I got a whole lot of ideas but ONE of these will def come true Nance - and I will write you about it.
One of my fave Hollywood heroines is Rachel Weisz in The Mummy, simply because of the one scene where she proudly (albeit drunkenly) proclaims, "I...am a LIBRARIAN!"!! :D
ReplyDeleteJane, organic farming sounds like a fabulous idea.....India is waking up to it big time & I think u shd just go ahead:-).
ReplyDeleteI love the aroma of baking bread too....baked bread just twice; the bread itself wasnt all tht gr8 but the aroma ....the aroma was sublime:-)).
Given money I would love to be a film producer and act in my movie. I would sign A. Jolie, J. Aniston in my opposite leads, hmmm J. Roberts with some supportive role like a frnd or something. B.Pitt will be the lead villain, who always gets kicked A$$ by me he he he ....oh oh ...Slowly as I am writing this comment the story is also getting incepted in my mind nancy....(If anytime this comes true will surely call you for premier and if I win Oscar will mention ur blog as inspiration .. I promise)
ReplyDeleteWah...wah...kya idea hai sirjeee;-D.
ReplyDeleteAll invites already accepted....if u want I can help u with the screenplay too;-D
Lots of ideas, I always dreamt o being an entreprenuer. I wanted to own a bus which will take tourists around the city, with food and music in the evenings and a place to do a party. In college days I dreamt of a beachside bookstore with a small souvenir shop and cafe. One of my recent ones -- A fitness centre, with day care or a mom and toddler group where women can exercise, catch up with each other without having to worry about their lil ones :)
ReplyDeleteAll your ideas are lovely but the last idea is a winner:-))
ReplyDeleteI agree with Nancy on Elizabeth's ideas!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll make a terrible business person... but if I do, it would probably be a day care/ school, book shop or a restaurant... because I love babies, books and food! ;)
ReplyDeleteUma: ;-D
ReplyDeleteWannabeWriter: I like the restaurant idea....I hope u'll give me a hefty discount whenever I visit ur restaurant;-D
Books are my passion; I would love to open a simple library cum bookshop.
