Oh I’m famous……my picture has come in the newspaper!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was like this……one day my friend & I heard that Times of India was offering free tickets to the English movie “Stepmom” for the 1st 100 people who reached their office to claim it. We sprinted out of our office as soon as we heard it & reached there just in time to claim the tickets. The next day one of our collegues stood at the office entrance & waited. He took us aside & told us that TOI had put up a photo of the people who collected the tickets the previous day. Our Boss has seen the picture. My friend almost collapsed and I was shaking in guilt. Our collegue then shook the newspaper open & showed us the picture. We took one look and started beating him up. The entire office laughed and laughed.
The picture and caption was there alright……..but it just showed an aerial view of a looooong line of people waiting to collect the tickets. My friend & I squinted & strained our eyes to finally zero in on us….2 tiny figures patiently waiting to collect our free tickets;-D.
My sister who was the president of her college was photographed ‘clearly’ in TOI for some activity related to her college:-)).

Your story reminded me of a scene in a tamil movie. Two friends would go to get the first 2 tickets for a movie, so they could get a gold chain and gold ring, claiming fake reasons with their boss. The twist being that to their ill-luck, the boss will be the prize distributor :D

ReplyDeleteThis is to inform you that I am deeply disappointed about your untime blog entries in konnotation link, and that it is wrecking my heart.
I have otherwise been very happy headed as I am expecting a fantabulous weekend that would go something like buying harry potter shirts, finally getting to go to a lending library near her friend's place, fighting with nephew, etc.
However, this one thing makes me fight gallons of tears that gushes out day in and day out due to you not updating posts on the allotted time.
Please consider this emotional blackmail as one of plea from an ardent fan, and update posts asap.

ReplyDeleteLucky me! I have featured in the newspapers in Oman 3 times in the last 18 months - all of them were reports on the training programs I have conducted here.
Back in India too I had the privilege on a number of occasions!
And I've even been mentioned in a newspaper in Brazil

Yep been lucky twice, in "ERGO" local newspaper for IT ppl, it was edition of The Hindu, but it was closed last year due to some financial reason as I know.
