Received this in my mail and loved it.....thought I'll share it with U

I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp--
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics and the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.

Herb, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.

I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.

'And why's everyone so quiet,
So sombre - give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' He said, 'they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you.'

JUDGE NOT.

Remember...Just going to Church/Temple/Mosque doesn't make you a Christian/Hindu/Muslim any more than standing in your garage makes you a car .

Every saint has a PAST....
Every sinner has a FUTURE!!!!!

  2. mmmmm - Somehow I am finding it difficult to resonate with this N. Judge not by appearances - Sure. Judge not even by actions ? Not so sure.

  3. :) I guess you have a point. We are always so quick to judge others that we sometimes forget to look deep down inside :) Feels great to be back Nancy!

  9. I liked this. Especially the part that EVERY SAINT HS A PAST... AND EVERY SINNER HAS A FUTURE. Its never too late to do the right thing.

  13. Excellent thought Nancy!I've tried hard at that, at the end, you are only taken for granted, which hurts!! Again we need strength to get over this hurt, too!

  15. I had received this poem a long, long time ago, infact blogged about it as well without giving away the last line - I wanted to see how many would get it :)

Thanks for making me read it again, it's such a revelation and believe me, I did learn a lot from this poem long back and it still doesn't fail.

And hoping the house work ends soon and you've even more time to relax. The paint smell can be one helluva trigger for headaches!

  27. Just going to Church/Temple/ Mosque doesn't...that single sentence says everything....very occasionally get some meaningful forwards like this....
