And sooo a post

I was in the kitchen frantically trying to do 4 things at the same time. Lunch was going to be late if I didn’t hurry.

Just then the better-half calls out to me from the bedroom. I turn down the flame to simmer 2 dishes and was trying to finish the seasoning on the third when he calls out again. I wipe my hands on the towel and hurry into the bedroom where the hero & the kids are lounging on the bed.

“Tell me quick, I've got stuff happening on the stove.” I say preoccupied.

The better-half leans forward, pats the side of the bed for me to sit and says “You know, I was just thinking that 2017 is going to be crucial year for us because Nikita will be in her 12th and Naina in 10th grade”.

“Goodness, however are we going to manage??”  I look at him in worry.

“Right now I can’t even imagine them in 10th & 12th. But you know what, there is one thing in our favour; both of them will have these exams in the same year and so they will finish in one go. Otherwise just imagine, we’ll be freaking with the same issue for 2 years” I shudder.

The better-half leans back against the pillows contemplating. I return to the kitchen still pondering about the issue and am attacked by the acrid smell of something burning.

Damn. Damn.

I quickly turn off the heat and attempt damage control.

[Insert elevator music here]

Marching back to the bedroom I demand…

“You called me sooo urgently to discuss something which is going to happen in 2017”.

Snow writes in the previous comment section "aw come on.. now that we're used to reading your posts every day, u can't stop :P we need our daily fix of Nancy-isms ;-) :-)."

  2. Snow, Thank you very much for your irresistible comment and adding one more day to our Nancy-isms :)

But, 2017 is just 5 years away, N- just five years. And you think the thing that burns on the stove is much important than 10th and 12th board exams??!! Pch, pch- you need to set your priorities right N :P

I am wondering how you manage 4 dishes in the morning???!!!!! Tussi great ho, N, Tussi great ho.

4 dishes in the morning last happened in 1999 I think. This was for lunch...actually I mentioned 4 things not 4 dishes...see I'm not really good at multi-tasking. At the most I can talk on the phone and do some work but doing work+work+work all at the same time is like climbing an elephant for me...meaning unimaginable;-o.
The 'great' bit I'll accept gracefully since u are so sweetly telling me;-D

  3. Ha Ha. By the way be thankful that the Mister didn't call you urgently and ask what you thought was the meaning of life. Used to be a favourite prank of ours in hostel days - wake up somebody deep in sleep and pop this question :)

Snow is absolutely right. Bravo Snow.

    1. Oh Nikita does that all the time...wake us up and ask what the time is;-D. And I'll actually be squinting in the dark to see what the time is. The H who rarely gets angry with the kids gets so riled up & I find it soo funny;-D.

  4. Agree with Snow!

And ...are you going on a blog break in 2017 ? Dont even think of it!

Also- men are like that...for them something happening in 2017 is more important than the lunch which can happen in 30 minutes.

Blog-break in 2017...u r asking this to someone who lives the saying 'take each day as it comes'. All I can say is I sure hope I'll be still blogging even then;-D.

Totally agree...anyways the H learnt an imp lesson that day...NEVER to mess with the person who fries his fish;-D.

  7. Somehow i resonate with your hubby in a way.. :).. I always think what I would be doing in future. For instance, during world cup(football), i envisage about next world cup and also try to remember what I was doing during the last one. I can trace my menory back till 1994 world cup....
