14. On Mute

I feel like I am standing behind a huge sheet of glass and watching the world go by.

I can see the sea roaring and the waves powerfully crashing against the land but can’t hear a thing.

I see cars and other vehicles zooming past in unbelievable speed but can only hear the air-conditioner humming in my ear.

I can see children playing boisterously in the park but when I strain my ears I can only hear the wall-clock quietly ticking away.
